 Strategic Planning

Organizations that operate with “best practice” strategies within their industry are most likely to succeed.  RC’s experience in strategy consulting includes specialties in information technology, integrated service modeling, performance measurement models, SWOT analysis, utilization of logic models, and strategic retreats with implementation decision support.

RC’s Strategic Planning techniques are based on providing clients with:

  • Clear and insightful observations and critiques on organizational practices
  • Realistic alternative strategies for addressing organizational weaknesses and threats
  • A collaborative environment on assessing project/ program strategy
  • Identification of key functions critical to agency/ organization mission

We perform the following types of activities during our strategic planning projects:

  • Conduct interviews with agency/ organization’s leadership to summarize the executive body’s perspective
  • Perform SWOT analysis
  • Prioritize organizational issues (External and Internal)
  • Identify human resources (Staffing) issues as it relates to product/ program delivery
  • Perform gap analysis
  • Review prior strategic plans or organizational assessment reports
  • Develop a tactical implementation strategy model
  • Generate a detailed report along with a draft version of a formal strategic plan or organizational assessment
Typically, clients see small improvements almost immediately (2-4 weeks), with the majority of improvements appearing in 3-6 months as processes and tools are developed/updated, and newly developed leadership skills are utilized.  At the 6-8 month point, clients perform a self-assessment to ensure that the desired results are identified.
